Is there a "post-truth" majority in the US?

Anonymous
I'm worried there is. Trump and RFK Jr. combined are likely to get 50% of the vote. Very troubling to think a majority will vote for anti-science, post-truth presidential candidates.

We have a lot of stupid people in the US.

Only in America 2024 would political hacks like Trump, Biden, and RFK Jr. be relevant. We keep hoping we'll wake up from this nightmare and yet they're still here. God save us!

19:56 is a great example of “post truth.” Both sides is the stinking pustule that helps drive a world in which post truth is acceptable because when the GOP is lumped in with Democrats, that’s someone not dwelling in reality.

This is what happens when newspapers, TV news, and other media become advocacy organizations rather than objective reporters of facts. I just assume they are all paid liars for whoever is the highest bidder. What you call post truth is people who have turned away from corporate media BS. Now the good news is that with the internet you can become well informed on any topic…more so than ever before in human history.

American voters are looking for a viable presidential candidate; not a random 7th grade math teacher. This person is no more fit to be POTUS until 2029 than Trump or Biden.

I don't think it's a majority, but the people that are existing this way are very vocal. It's great business for idiot podcasters and their audiences.

No, conspiracy (post truth) believers tend to be extroverted big mouths. It's best just to back away slowly.

Yup, look at Joe Rogan, Russell Brand and Jimmy Dore whose programs are rife with bad information. Infotainment for gullible idiots.

He's less fit than Biden for sure.

This "infotainment" has sadly become baked into belligerent refrains of "I dID mY rESeArCH" for millions of Americans.

They need to be deprogrammed. This crap is destroying America.

+1

There is no "both sides" here.

We used to leave science to the scientists. Now you the likes of Rogan, Brand and Dore "reading" what's in science journals to their gullible audiences.
