Engagement ring - what’s the perfect size?

Ladies, what is the perfect size. An engagement ring that you will wear daily and won’t be in the way?

I love my 1.5c round diamond with solitaire setting. It fits perfectly for my petite had and is timeless.

I agree! Mine is 1.6 and DH asks from time to time if I want to upgrade it and I refuse. It is the perfect size for everyday use and wouldn't want any bigger.

I think rings in the store are a standard size 7. But have it sized immediately so you don’t risk losing it. Spring is a good time to do it because of the moderate temperature.

Agree single solitaire cut and platinum band is classic, showcases the diamond week, versatile/ functional and easy to clean. I don’t have to take it off to do things - exercise, travel, sunscreen up the kids, etc.

Plus it can be dressed up later as it “matches” well with other wedding bands (though I have a simple narrow matching platinum band), a channel setting eternity band, and etc.

Avg women’s ring size is 7.
That said I’m a 4.
My spouses ring size fluctuates throughout the day as he gets hot or sleeps or whatever. We returned his wedding band about 3 times. He sleeps with it off and wears it during the day. Has never slid off.

I have very thin fingers and my 1c diamond gets in the way. The truth is that I don't like the feel of metal on my skin, so I don't wear jewelry, except necklaces that mostly lie on my blouse/top. My rings stay in a drawer.

I agree that a 1.5 would be perfect.

I honestly feel like my 2ct is too big.

I have an antique princess cut 1.8 set in white gold. It's beautiful.

Other than the one that fits, obviously - I feel like 0.75-1 ct is a great size. Mine is 0.8 and I can’t imagine wearing anything bigger. Have worn almost daily for 19 years.

My 1.5 carat pear doesn't get in the way at all, but it is big enough that I take it off at night and to shower or workout. It's beautiful and I love it, but if we had it to do over again, I'd want 2 carats.

I have a 1ct princess cut solitaire. I got married quite young and it was a huge purchase at the time so it has a lot of sentimental value. I think bigger than 1.5/2 ct looks funny unless you never interact with people who are not wealthy.

As long as it's slightly larger than her most recently proposed to friends, or almost certainly guaranteed to be on par with her soon to be engaged friends, you're ok.

I love my 1.25 carat solitaire in cathedral setting with 6 prongs. Simple. Classic.

Mine is a princess cut and the only issue I’ve had with it was it’s set high. I didn’t wear it when I had babies and was changing diapers, getting them dressed, etc. I wear it about 50% of the time now just because I’m not a big jewelry person. I wear my channel set wedding band daily.
