Help me find teen snack ideas - so lame I know

Anonymous
Title says it all: I have 2 teens who complain we are an “ingredients house and not a snack house” and then they play this game where I ask them what snacks they want and they reply “I don’t know, snacks”.

So I buy what I think they would like and they say they don’t like it.

So in probably the lamest DC thread ever: could you please post what snacks your kids like. Maybe it’s something I haven’t heard of. I get pizza bites, frozen pizza, fruits, salsa and chips, microwave popcorn. But my kids want to have friends hang out, and I want them to hang out here vs somewhere else so I’m in search of the snack holy grail.

Please no “what’s wrong with you as a parent”. Or whatever. It’s been a heavy couple of news days and I’m hoping to keep this thread on the lighter side. Thank you.

I think I see the problem with your snacks. They are a bit too healthy! Fruit? No. Salsa and chips? Not everyone likes salsa or tortilla chips. And not everyone likes popcorn.

That really only leaves the pizza and they may not want that as a snack.

I guess I’ll have to tell my teens and their friends that then.

Ask them for what they last ate at a friend's house.

Bring them with you to the store to pick things out. When their friends are over, pay attention to what they eat. My one kid is like me and very observant. She and I know what her close friends favorite items are and I make a point to keep those things in the house.

Most teens want junk food, not bagels and cream cheese. Of course there are exceptions. Is your teen a girl?

We have teens over a lot. Both sexes.

The biggest hits are

Dino nuggets (even my college student loves these!)
Mini corn dogs
Pirate booty
Strawberries
Fresh choc chip cookies (I keep dough refrigerated or frozen)
Dominoes pizza and their brookies
Pineapple (fresh cut)
Waters, sprite, lemonades

What hasn’t been a hit:

Wings (shocker I guess too dirty)
Mozz sticks (I think they cool too quick)
Grapes
Tortilla chips and dips of any kind (queso, guac, or salsa)
Carrots and hummus
Popcorn
Any dessert besides cookies or brownies
Coke, Diet Coke, root beer, juices

So I tend to just keep my garage fridge stocked with foods I can easily heat up or I just order dominoes pizza and brookies.
