Hello,
I’m a 5’11, size 16 teacher…so please don’t suggest $200 jeans even if they “last forever”. I have been wearing old navy jeans but they look cheap and the crotch wears out really fast. I also have no idea what style to get…I’m tall and plus size but attractive, in my opinion. So I’d like to look better!
Be kind. View it as a thanks to teachers. |

Have you tried american eagle?
-also a teacher |
| Gap has good jeans and they often have sales. |
| I’ve always liked LOFT jeans, and they go on sale a lot. |
|
I just don’t know what style…
Skinny dark jeans make me look heavier, or so I think…or maybe I’ve gotten heavier. Ha. |
| Oh come on, this thread was just starting to get interesting. |
| Check Nordstrom Rack. That's where I went when I finally ditched the Old Navy clothes. |
| American Eagle. |

I absolutely love these. Keep watching them because I'm sure they'll end up in clearance soon. They are offered in tall. Super soft, pull on style, the inside fabric is so soft.
Land's End: https://www.landsend.com/products/womens-starfish-mid-rise-knit-denim-straight-jeans/id_373559?attributes=5458,44967 |
| NYDJ. There are so many pairs on Poshmark you could get for like $20-30. |
| Are you curvy? I swear by Gloria Vanderbilt “Amanda” style jeans from Kohls. They last forever, even with a lot of thigh rubbing. |
I started buying these after I found out about them from the comments under a WaPo article about how crappy women's fashion is. They have been my ordinary priced jean go-to for about six years. Before that I had Jones New York (which keeps going out of business) and before that I wore Lands End. Gap never fits me right and the prices are often bad. There are usually some colors in addition to blues. They do wear well. You can buy them online from Kohls. I've seen them at Macy's as well. |

I love Kut from the Kloth:
https://www.nordstrom.com/s/kut-from-the-kloth-natalie-fab-ab-high-waist-bootcut-jeans-monument/6714634 I love that the fabric is more than 90% cotton but with stretch. I find them classic, durable and they dont wear thin too easily. |
| I’m not plus size but I am a teacher and I have been pleasantly surprised by the affordable quality of American Eagle, Gap, and brands like Kit from the Kluth on Nordstrom Rack. Looks like I am not the only one! I do like Old Navy because I can always find my size (I am very short) and it’s a good way to try out trends but I agree that durability can be an issue (but not always…some pieces last a long time, it’s odd). |
| *Kut from the Kloth! Lol |
