Gaza War, Part 3

Anyone remember Joe’s redline on ragas?

How will Israel eliminate all of Hamas? Do they have some special facial characteristic to identify themselves as Hamas? Tattooss? DNA? Or does Israel have a list of every member?

Which Democrat would you support?

You don't seem to understand. Voters don't need to pick another horse. They can stay home and not vote. That's my plan. If that helps Trump get elected, so be it.

So you’d rather see Gaza obliterated and Jared building his fancy homes there? Some Einstein-level thinking there.

Ethically, I can not vote for a president who is aiding a genocide, so I'll stay home

Ok, stay home and watch Trump win. Watch Trump and his son in law Jared take control and let the IDF wipe Gaza.
Do you care about the people in Gaza at all?
If you cared one bit about Gaza, you wouldn’t let Jared take control. You only care about yourself.
The goal isn’t to vote for the perfect leader. They are both bad and flawed. The goal is to pick the less evil.

Biden, Trump and even Kennedy are reflexively pro-Israel. Sitting out this election/writing someone in is really your only option for protesting what Israel is doing. Now one might want to ask why the only people you can vote for are pro-Israel.

It's not accomplishing anything though. You're not going to find a pro-Hamas POTUS next time around because you sat this one out. You're basically just hurting your own interests at home since Trump and Biden are so different on US issues...

Trying to equating opposing man made famine to being pro hamas is getting old fast.

It might be hard for you to grasp, but these are the two parties in this war. You're pro-Israel or pro-Hamas. Nobody likes starving civilians.

It may be hard for you to grasp, but total war to eliminate terrorists is a step too far for most people. Civilized countries do not create famines as a means of war

Pro-Hamas or pro-Israel are still the choices. Hamas is absolutely contributing to famine in Gaza and encouraging it.

I am nuanced pro-Israel. Hamas is primarily to blame - and they could have stopped it from happening in the first place, they could end it today, and they could have mitigated the harm.

But I think especially with the WCK killing, it's become clear that Israel cannot in good conscience continue to prosecute this way, they way they are. Israel is right to defend itself, and to eliminate Hamas, but at some point too many other people are dying for this cause. I think many people - even those who are pro-Israel - would say that point was a long time ago. For me, the WCK deaths have really driven home that this just doesn't make sense.

This has increasingly felt like Netanyahu's desperate gambit to hold onto power. Instead, it seems like in addition to killing too many people, it's also destroying Israel. It feels like this has crossed a line - both a moral line, and a public opinion/political line - that is going to be very hard to come back from.

Yes, exactly.

It's very discombobulating reading a thoughtful take among the cesspool of comments here.

I imagine they have a lot of facial recognition of anyone cheering in the street Oct 7. That video went worldwide.

My GenZ son made an interesting comment about Israel vs Palestine. GenZ tends to be seen as siding with Palestine but not my kid. He said he doesn’t care for either side because they’re both terrible and both just blame the other. He said, Israel should be given back to the Brits to rule fairly over both.

Israel has to take the higher ground going forward to maintain the moral balance. They need to do better. That being said, they entered this on Oct 7 with a LOT of high ground to cede.

No they did not. They had killed over 200 Palestinians before Oct7 and approved over 11,500 new homes in the West Bank. How is that the high ground?

Zionists believe that Israelis replenish their moral high ground every night when they slumber. Nothing they do, no matter how heinous, can rival the lowliness of even the greatest Palestinian. They are superior, dontcha know?

They did on 10/8 but the events since then have left them in a major deficit. Bibi has become the worst threat to Israel since its founding and it pains me to say that but it is 100% true.

One ISIS hit here in the USA (or even little knife and acid attacks) and everyone denouncing Israel will support them;

We had 9/11. Even in the bloodiest battles in Iraq and Afghanistan, we never deliberately starved civilians to death.

What I don't understand is Hamas terrorists could surrender, release hostages and end the suffering of their people. Why don't they do that?

Why do IDF soldiers murder American teenagers in the West Bank with nothing to do with Hamas?

Evil doesn’t need an excuse, whether Hamas or Israeli evil.

Not sure what that has to do with Hamas hiding like cowards in Gaza.

No sure what that has to do with the IDF killing more aid workers in 6 months than have been killed in all global conflicts in the past two decades.

You're responding to the wrong post then, another non-sequitur.

Not sure what that has to do with Israel committing daily war crimes while continuing to cast itself as victim.

NP. Are you joking? Israel takes responsibility for its mistakes. When has Hamas EVER taken responsibility?? They have failed to give Gazans a better life. They never took responsibility for the lies they told about the misfired terrorist rocket that hit Al-Shifa hospital in October. They have never taken responsibility for USING A HOSPITAL as their command center and their people as human shields. And Hamas has certainly never taken responsibility for the inhumane, unspeakable atrocities they committed on Oct. 7th.

Nope, Hamas in its propaganda and rhetoric pushes ALL responsibility for the suffering of Palestinians onto Israel - as well as all Jews and Americans. Hamas is “always innocent,” always the “victims” at the mercy of everyone else. It’s performative helplessness which allows Hamas to play the perpetual victims - when in fact, they are a murderous gang of thugs and losers. Hamas intentionally killed 1,200 people in one day.

You will never, ever hear Hamas take responsibility for anything. I hope Israel takes out every last one of them.

+ a million
Well said.
