What’s an incredible family trip for 10k, 4 people?

What’s an incredible trip we could take for 4 people, $10k for accommodations and doesn’t include flights?

Kids are 7 + 8 years old and have never been out of the country except for Canada, Caribbean and Costa Rica. I’m leaning towards Asia or South America. We lived in Europe for a decade prekids.

If Asia, I’d look into Japan - so much to do and Tokyo is impressive. It’s also pretty save, kid friendly and easier to navigate than other places. Or New Zealand. I’d love to take my kids on a safari in Botswana or South Africa but worry about safety in SA.

Random but my kids at that age absolutely loved Budapest for the many amazing playgrounds and indoor pools. They still ask to go back just for the playgrounds lol. I wouldn’t spend an entire week there but absolutely worth a few days. Very kid friendly and cheap

You could add in Prague and that would be a great trip for those ages

We did greece for about that (honestly probably a little less) for 2 weeks last summer. We did Milos and Paros one week, and Crete for another week with a day and night in Athens. Stayed in a terrific airbnb in Crete and affordable hotels in the other two (on Milos, the four of us were in one room, but fo rhe other places the kids were in a separate bedroom). We rented cars in each place which really opens up what you can do. Happy to give further details if you want them (our kids were 7 and 9).

One more thought. I just went to Colombia with my hsuband and LOVED it. I wish we had brought th ekids and am thinking of going back with them. Super affordable and you can definitely have an amazing time for 10K

Mexico city plus the beach is another trip I'm targeting for the future.

Alaska. By land.

Alaska by land could easily cost a lot more than that if you want to do cool excursions. Flights and rental car alone will likely be $5K. yes you could just drive around and camp and have an amazing time, but I assume if OP wanted to camp she would have said that.

Crete airbnb: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/50497569?source_impression_id=p3_1709933200_qFgOA7xoKVB%2BVeAU. You definitely need a car in Crete but we found it easy to explore. Happy to give more suggestions!
