It can happen SO easily.
There was some sloppy accounting in the PTA I volunteered for, and I repeatedly warned the President and VP that the treasurer could be pocketing a lot of money without our knowledge. I left shortly thereafter because I was so uncomfortable with it. |

You don't even need that. The books should be subject to review by any member upon request and the should be regularly audited |

| I think it's really easy for this to happen in places where everybody wants "A PTO to exist" but nobody actually wants to be involved with it. Which I think is common where nobody has lifetimes to give to such a shit job. |

Seems like a "both and" situation. Two signatures will stop more theft before it happens. Open books and audits will hopefully catch it after. |
