Energy drinks

Is it normal for elementary students to use energy drinks if they have early morning sports practice? Just to get them to wake up and be alert?

Awful.

Go to bed on time.

What? No. I wouldn’t buy these for teens either and will discourage them from buying themselves at any age

I think it is crazy that adults are using energy drinks. I think it is insane that anyone would give an energy drink to a child.

I will never give it to a child, but I don't like coffee so I drink energy drinks Monsters are good. I didn't like Red Bul..

OP here- thats how I feel. But I was talking to a mom whose 4th grade son plays hockey. Has early morning practices and sometimes late evening practices too. I asked her how does she get him to wake up at 5 and how is he able to even practice. She said she gives him prime energy drinks on the way there to ‘wake’ him up and to make sure he was alert. I was horrified. But then we don’t do crazy sports schedule so what do I know..

Good lord, no. My kid’s coaches have explicitly banned use of energy drinks and this is for HS. Fourth grade!?!

No, my kids have had crazy sports schedules and they still aren’t getting energy drinks. They are terrible for anybody’s heart, especially kids.

I prefer to smear a thin line of coke on their gums, it avoids the unnatural chemicals in energy drinks and I find it is a clean high that wears off by lunch
