What workouts have you loved and hated?

Anonymous
I’ve loved
- orange theory
- Zumba (with a great instructor)
- running groups

I’ve hated
- solid core (my #1 really hated)
- barre
- working out with a trainer (just hate either standing in silence or making small talk between sets)

Everything else has been in the middle

Just curious what other people have loved and hated

Hate treadmills, super boring and feels awful

Love trail running and various sports (volleyball, ultimate, tennis, basketball)

Hate doing but love the benefits: pilates

Ha! I don’t think I’ve ever been as pissed off during a workout as when I tried solid core - it reminded me of holding a pencil and writing until your hand cramped up, over and over and over. Whyyyyyy is that necessary (I don’t mean it’s not a good workout, just not for me!)

Love:
Pilates reformer
Running
Skiing

Hate:
Mat Pilates
Working with a trainer
Dance fitness
Anything that requires skill where I’m in a team (like ultimate- I’m terrible at it and just apologize to team members the whole time)

Love love love boxing.
Hate the treadmill and leg days(but still do that).

Love: Pilates, yoga and walking.

Hate: everything else.

One thing I have realized is I hate chain places that do classes. They are so formulaic, sales oriented, and impersonal.

The local small businesses are much better IMO.

Love: Cycling, running, indoor cycling, and indoor running on my Peloton tread+

Hate: Swimming
Anonymous
Love:
zumba (with a great, high intensity instructor)
bodypump
HIIT classes
boxing
walking on the treadmill doing incline intervals (NO HANDS, PEOPLE)
hiking outdoors (with hills and elevation)

Hate:
both mat and reformer pilates
barre
running groups (I run, but only solo)
pickleball just annoys the F out of me

I love walking outdoors in the woods.
Back in the 90s I loved the step aerobics class I went to with a friend. Pretty sure no gyms do those anymore.
Swimming laps. I always feel good after that.

Pretty much hate anything that makes me feel like I’m dying

Love:
Running (usually alone but I'm good with 1-2 others)
F45
Orange Theory
Working with a trainer

Hate:
Running groups
Pure Barre
Pilates
Body Pump
Yoga
Any class where the instructor talks incessantly. I'm there to work out not socialize=

Dislike but will do:
Swimming only because I suck at it but love the feeling when you're done.

I love it, because I felt the same way at OT! Too funny :)

Love: Step aerobics. To date the best workout of my life. Especially double step.
Old school high-low aerobics.
Yoga vinyasa/sivananda/yin

Hate: there's not a lot but I know that I don't want to explain my body's quirks to a trainer so I have never done personal training
I don't love most kick-boxing
Pilates--all the counting reminds me of high school PE
