Really poor and bad timing on Jawando's part. I hope he gets hammered for this. He's on the wrong side of the crime issue. |
There were two high profile, car searches that resulted in a large drug stash, and another one that had guns. this six or eight months ago. |
He needs to find a new profession. |
This is good. If an officer has probable cause then this doesn't apply. The police should only search if there is evidence of a crime, not because they want to go fishing. |
Oh, that pesky 4th Amendment, so frustrating! |
If you want searches, pass a law mandating searches. Don't rely on fraudulent consent obtained by the threat of murder. |
Finally a win for criminals! |
I really hope we can get him off the council. Exactly the wrong direction with all the crime right now. |
Yes, I am definitely no big fan of Jawando’s, but cops don’t need any help violating rights. |
Not applicable. Consent makes it...consensual. |
A gun makes it non consensual. |
Yeah, that's the biggest problem in DC. MPD shoots all sorts of people. Oh wait... |
No. That's so 1990. Every MoCo stop has at least one body worn camera and one in car video going. The drivers have to be advised of their rights and that they may say no. 10% of all recovered guns were from traffic stops last year. And those aren't from someone lawfully transporting for lawful use. Those are guns that were likely used or going to be used to hurt community members -- most likely residents of color. Current policy is appropriately balanced to preserve both drivers' rights and community safety. |
he is such a pandering clown show
