| How does the IOC justify this blatant discrimination. |
|
Have any countries in Africa put in a bid?
|
| Senegal was going to host the youth games in 2022 but it got postponed to 2026. |
|
The racism is the colonization and lack of infrastructure that causes no one to be able to put in a bid, not the IOC which hasn't magically forced an African country to bid.
Google tells me Egypt may bid for 2036. |

It’s not racism, it’s plain economics.
Do you have any idea about the cost of the Olympics for the host country? Ask Athens how paying for the 2004 Olympics worked out for them. |
| Let’s spend billions to host the Olympics and have a bunch of tourists come and gawk while our citizens have no jobs, housing or food. Real genius idea. |
| Hosting the Olympics is not a good thing. It's a brief economic boom (that is not sustained), followed by a lot of waste, corruption, and forgotten-ness. |
| Yawn |
|
Think about all the money required to build facilities for the Olympics. Billions upon billions of dollars. For something that will be used for less than a month.
Now imagine what that money could do for the people of a typical African nation instead. (Honestly, most of it would be grifted or embezzled by the political class of most of these countries anyway) Any African leader that DID come by that much money and then spent it all for the Olympics instead of improving conditions for their own citizens would be killed. Deservedly. |
Concern Troll is VERY concerned.

Yes, let's curse some African country with the debt bomb that is the Olympics.

They can't find a host for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, which is like a lite Olympics. Many African countries are members of the Commonwealth, but they aren't putting their hands up to do it either at this time. |
+1 Hosting the olympics seems to be a blessing-shaped curse. |
| Just because black people don’t have something doesn’t always make it racism! |
Honest to God, OP is so ignorant! |
