Certainly not a safety, but Naviance data from our school has been pretty clear that NE admits high stats kids EA.

They've been deferring 1500+SAT kids for a couple of years now. Last year my 4.5, 1560, NMSF was deferred and then WL AND toured campus. He was CS. Its a tough admit.

My kid just got in. We've never visited or attended any information sessions about it. What's the basis of you saying they prefer lower stats kids? CDS just says applicant's interest is "considered."
