Never worked out in a gym. How do I start?

I'm a woman. Worked out at home but not getting results just lost a lot of weight. I want to build muscle and add muscle to my deflating gluten. I used to have a popping bootie with no gym when I was 20. So how do I start and is it all just eating protein heavy and laying off the sugar?

Pick a gym near you. Go to that gym. Get a membership. Find a personal trainer to help you learn how to work out using gym equipment. Tell them what your goals are re poppin booty and they can get you started. Then it's about your consistent work toward that goal.

Join a Crossfit gym. Works for me and DW. They do the programming and help you make adjustments ("scale") as you start to match your ability. You will get results, period. In and out in 1 hr, do it 4x/wk.

Is a personal trainer necessary?

Def not. If you want to build bootie, do heavy squats. Repeat until you've got a great caboose.

Simple but not easy.

+1 The personal trainer has been the difference for me.

You don’t need a trainer forever, OP. Most gyms can include 3-4 sessions if you negotiate well when you join. Use those sessions to be really honest with the trainer - you’ve never used a gym before and need a tutorial + a basic routine you can do on your own.

Step one: Enter the gym. Step two: Work out.
