Is anyone's Senior not in anywhere yet?

Just curious. My kid did restrictive early action (not an Ivy) and there was only one other school he liked/applied to that was public EA (but they don't announce until February). It was definitely the right strategy for him. He applied to 17 schools with a good mix of (safety, target and reach). They all only had ED, or EDI/EDII and his top choices weren't any that offered EDII.

It just feels weird to hear everyone talking about all these acceptances and he literally has no clue. He could care less though. He is a 35ACT/4.0uw/4.4w at a private so he will get in somewhere, but it feels really weird to not know until mid-late March.

Regular decision applications were just submitted. Lots of kids haven't been accepted yet.

Most kids don’t have any acceptances.

That said, my kid does have one acceptance at Pitt. Was deferred from ED school. None of the other schools applied to had early action, and she didn’t want to do ED 2 anywhere because she still wants to wait for the first school where she was deferred.

Yeah. It just seems like every person on here is talking about their 3-6 acceptances---but I guess those are a lot of OOS publics and not Top 20 or privates.

False. My kid has been accepted to:

UMW
Radford
Washington College
ODU
CNU
ECU
Randolph Macon

They are waiting on a dozen others.

Good luck parents and kids! This is a trying time.

I’m confused. Do you care? If he doesn’t and it was the right choice for him, why does it matter what others have heard (or haven’t heard) unless YOU care? Why would it be weird at all if you think it was the right choice?

When in Feb.? If it’s Feb. 1st and the next choice is a school with ED2 that notifies in mid-Feb., then apply to that 3rd choice school ED2 (probably not too late to switch an RD app to ED2 if call admissions).

Then if don’t get into 2nd choice EA school Feb. 1st., you already have a pending ED2 application for 3rd choice school.

If do get into 2nd choice EA school around Feb. 1st, then immediately pull the ED2 application for 3rd choice school. You have a right to pull any ED app anytime before notification of acceptance…

My kid is in 3 places (all public), deferred 2 (both private; ED and EA).

Waiting to hear on 15 more.

I feel you OP. Prior recent year, mine struck out in ED, but at the end of RD had 4 offers, three with merit, 5 WL, three of which came through, and one of those with merit, which was surprising (and happily accepted). So in the end 7 great private schools to choose from and really liked all of them.

Hang in there.

Our kid (now in college) applied to four. Got into three. Picked one. Done.

I assume the parent didn’t apply.
