5th grade DS just informed me that according to the bus driver there won’t be school tomorrow. So, I guess that clinches it! |
hahaha love it.
Question for whoever happens to know: in another thread I heard they are supposed to announce by 6PM or something? Does that mean that they won't change whatever decision they make the next morning (short of something extreme happening)? |
We are in LCPS and they usually announce by 6pm if they are going to announce the day before. Otherwise its usually 5am the next morning. |
Op here, should have specified we are in APS. I think they are supposed to disseminate info by 6 pm the night before but don’t know if they may change the next day. |
APS has committed previously to announcing by 6pm, which is kind of BS but apparently the people demanded it years ago so they can "make plans".
It makes a lot more sense to wait as long as they can and get the most updated info. Make the call at 5am. With the information they have at 6pm they're going to close, I would think. |
Unreliable narrator, OP. |
Thats called wishful thinking- both your kid and the bus driver! The bus driver does not know yet, I get staff emails so can confirm that. |
Yet the odds are in the bus driver's favor. If the powers that be are following CWG/Jay's Wintry Mix like the rest of us. |
For sure, but the bus driver wasn't "in the know". |
Op here, I was joking about the bus driver and how these days everyone is an armchair expert about school closures for snow, lol. |
Alexandria already announced they're closed Friday. |
I don't think she was pretending to be. I'm a teacher and we've all been saying this to each other all day. |
They could announce a delay tonight then change to a closure in the morning. But it never goes the other direction. |
So is FCPS. |
With ACPS and FCPS closed, it’s certain APS will also close. |
