40 year old women- what do you wear to the gym?

I'm back to reach some fitness goals 2024, if you work out regularly....what do you wear? I'm not wearing skin tight clothing but don't want to wear a baggy shirt either.

Any ideas? I'm all new to this again.

I wear leggings and a t-shirt. Leggings are from Amazon or Costco and t-shirts are probably Gap.

Im most comfortable in leggings and a tank top. The top is loose but not too loose. I dont like shorts because they ride up and dont find loose pants comfortable for exercise.

As a 40 yo woman i wear the same i did in my 30s. Leggings that are thick enough to not be transparent... and a sport tee shirt that is fitted but not super clingy. Whenever i have the more defined arms i am working on i will happily switch to tank tops

Either soccer shorts and a tshirt, or running tights and a tshirt.

I am no prude, but I do think the gym is for getting down to business and good hygiene and public health practices should be observed. It used to be that you had to cover your shoulders and stomach in the gym. Now, apparently, you can workout in your bikini. I don't know about you, but I don't want to sit on a bench after a woman in booty shorts has been on it, no matter if she sprayed it or not. That's nasty af.

The same as all the decades before - leggings and a yoga or tank top. Why would it be different? I expect to wear the same in the next few decades.

44 year old lady, checking in. Mid-calf leggings/capris and a tank top. They're all semi-tight. It's what I feel comfortable in.

I see women older than me in oversized t-shirts and sweatpants, and other woman in booty shorts and a long-line bra (she's probably in her 50s and looks great in it). Just wear what you feel comfortable getting your workout in. No one cares. People should be focused on their own workout, and not caring what others are wearing. More important is to have good gym etiquette.

No legging unfortunately. I don't like the pinching. La viva pants have been very durable.
I have a long slim Nike t-shirt of very high quality that covers my butt. I got it from Europe. Here I have to by men's sizes to get long, but would be baggy.

Depends on the workout. For strength/weight workouts, I like joggers that aren’t see-through and/or won't rip with squats. If it’s a female-focused class like Pilates or yoga, I wear leggings and a form-fitting tank that won’t ride up.

Leggings and a t-shirt. Be comfortable!

Leggings and a tank top. Unfortunately you can see my cellulite bumps through the leggings, but that’s what my legs look like these days. Same with the fat on my arms.
