WWYD? - sort of a customer service/repairman question

Anonymous
Long story short - today was supposed to be the 4th visit by my friendly GE repairman to repair my oven. On every visit some new issue that was caused by the first repairman or a new part being installed has arisen. The second repairman (Larlo) has ordered parts and kept the estimate the same.

Their scheduling process is terrible, but I scheduled this follow up with Larlo in person as he ordered yet another part for the oven. Well, I got a call from his colleague this afternoon asking me about the scheduled repair and if I was aware that this was going to cost $800. I said no, that's definitely not what I understood and that I thought I was booked with Larlo who told me there was no additional cost because of human and product error. He quickly got off the phone with me and I have not heard another word.

Would you call and try to schedule Larlo again or would you turn to another appliance repair person at this point? I have a guy I've used for my clothes dryer. If he couldn't do the repair I think he would steer me to someone who could.

Another person or buy a new one.

I would wait to hear back from Larlo. Colleague was probably mistaken or didn’t know the backstory.

They only called this afternoon? I would wait it out.

Are they all from the same brick and mortar repair shop? Or are they freelance? I ask because a lot of cable folks back in the day were freelance. We ordered from DishTV and the guy showed up to install. Alas, due to the layout of our backyard, the only place where the dish could get reception was if it were installed on a pole placed smack dab in the middle of our backyard. I told the guy that wouldn't work, so we would need to pass. "Come again?" I told him that DH and I didn't want a pole stuck in the middle of our backyard just to get cable so we were going to pass on the installation. "How the h*ll do you think I am going to get paid for this job?" I was three months pregnant, still riven with morning sickness (all day sickness), but still able to hold my ground and tell him that we were going to pass.

They are the local GE appliance repair reps. I believe they work for GE or for whatever company GE has contracted, but all the receipts say GE.

I was not charged for last parts order, but I definitely need the guy that came before. But it's like there's no way to reach him. I'm also really irritated that I took a half-day off work to dick around with this.
