| Was he able to keep his jacket? |
| Probably a Canada goose jacket. My son asked for one; HELL NO! |
| Why are so many young adults in PG such complete and utter trash? Are there parents around, or equally trashy? Shooting a kid over a freaking jacket? How about you get a job and work for something yourselves? Absolute insanity. |
| OMG. I had a cousin who found himself in a similar situation. Fortunately shots were not fired. Give up the jacket and hopefully that is sufficient. Terrible. I hope this kid pulls out ok and makes a full recovery. I hope that the perp is caught, so he won’t harm himself or anyone else. Ugh. |
It’s rarely about the jacket. IYKYK |
A violent subculture |
No, it was Moose Knuckles |
I don't know, can you please explain? |
| At noon on Friday? Off campus lunch? Or was today a school holiday? |
| PG county is strange in how wide the income gap is. You still have areas of extreme poverty, even with million dollar homes in Bowie and Upper Marlboro. Even areas like Riverdale and Seat Pleasant are starting to get gentrified. When rents are up, food prices up, minimum wage staying the same, lack of mental health treatment, and schools not following up on chronic absenteeism, you create a population of teens living in deprivation, rage, and hopelessness for their futures. Until we address these root causes better, expect more of these incidents. |
| A friend dated a bartender who died this way in DC. Nice guy. Way back in the 90s |
Its very racist to refer to underprivileged youth as “animals” |
Power, respect or lack there of, initiation into a group, …. It could’ve been shoes instead of a jacket. It could’ve been an unwanted look or simply wrong place wrong time. |
As someone who teaches young adults in Prince George's County, your assumption is incorrect. Is there a reason why you are singling out young adults in this particular county? The ones I work with (hundreds over the last few years) all have jobs and are in school. They are not out shooting teens over jackets in the middle of the day. |
