I hate the idea of sleeping with socks on, so I was surprised to read that some sleep authorities actually recommend it! It feels too confining to me. I need my toes to be free .

I’m in perimenopause. I have to have one bare foot out of the covers or I’ll wake up in the middle of the night a sweaty mess. And I live in Colorado and keep my house cold at night.
|
| I strongly dislike the feeling of having overly warm feet at night. |
| Socks on, of course. Keep those gross feet germs confined. |
| Start with them on until I get warm, then I kick them off after about 1-2 hours. |
| Jump in bed with socks on. Removed within 10 minutes. |
+1. |
| I’m highly adaptable. I can go either way. I’m more likely to wear socks in the winter and sleep sockless in the summer, but in spring and fall, I’m a wild card. |

Always on and with long pants. I can’t stand the feeling of my legs/feet touching each other.
Yes, I know I’m weird. We keep the thermostat st 65-67 at night so I rarely get hot. 51 female. |
The one foot out is a perimenopause thing? That explains it, then. I’ve started doing this on the past year I get into bed with socks on sometimes, but remove them shortly thereafter. On laundry day, I have to go searching under the sheets for those discarded socks. I usually have a little pile that comes out from the bed |
| Having socks on in bed does a phenomenal job of keeping you warm. So it’s great if you’re cold and terrible if you’re not. DH has been keeping our house at icebox temps recently so big fuzzy socks for me! |

I knit socks for myself for sleeping in winter. I find a looser fit and a thicker yarn works for me.
It’s mainly to help me fall asleep when my feet are cold. |
| Start with on. During the night, I get overheated and start stripping. DH is a furnace. Menopause. Post chemo. Dysautonomia. Socks are first to go, but I have to start with them on. And like another PP, I stick one leg outside the covers to help cool down. |
