Anyone have one?
To be clear, the peas don't have to murder anyone. I just want a side dish that is to die for. Again. No one needs to die, the pea side dish just really has to be good. Thank you. |
| I like Nando’s peas. Mash some them with lots of butter and mint and salt to taste. I could eat a whole bowl. |
| There are different ways to make peas? |
| I love the baby petit pois quite buttered and salted. To me that's perfection. If you need to go further, add the tiny baby onions? |
Sounds like British mushy peas |
Peas with pearl onions are a favorite of mine |

It if can have peas with other things, then this is one of my favorite recipes. I've made it for parties and it's very popular as both a main (for the vegetarians) and a side (for the omnivores).

Does it have to be English peas? Does it need to be elegant, or just tasty?
If you can use any kind of peas and are looking for something that tastes good, I’d suggest making Hoppin’ John (which is based on black-eyed peas). Alternatively, maybe do something like fried rice with sugarsnap peas. For that matter, simply sauteeing sugar snap peas in olive oil and salting generously, I think beats any kind of English peas (but only if you serve immediately. I don’t think it would be good for a potluck). |

Thank you for clarifying about the peas, whew! Give peas a chance.
Parmesan goes really well with peas. Do that plus pear onions, yummy! https://jessicaseinfeld.com/recipes/sweet-peas-with-parmesan-and-lemon |
| I also love blanched peas with butter, salt and chopped mint but I don’t mash them |
|
Does not need to be elegant. I need to make enough for 15 people.
