Suggestions for appetizer for potluck

Anonymous
I need to bring an appetizer to a party this weekend and I'm tired of my usual ideas (baked brie, spanikopita, charcuterie board). Anyone have suggestions/recipes?

Stuffed mushrooms are always a hit. Crab filling is great, but I've also just done a bread stuffing ( sauteed stems, onions, garlic, thyme, parmesan). Can be made a day or so ahead and baked just before the event.

I'm also a fan of devilled eggs. You can make them swanky with fish roe, caviar, smoked salmon.

Basque pintxos always look so pretty on a platter. I like to make them with baguette, sliced hard boiled egg, a bit of roasted red pepper, and an anchovy on top. If your crowd won't like anchovy, you can always substitute some chorizo, prosciutto, or salami.

If you can use the broiler for a few minutes, pitted dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon.

Do they need to be finger foods? What about an arugula salad? W mushrooms, thyme, toasted pine nuts and shaved parm, or prosciutto Gorgonzola with fig-jam balsamic dressing?

I guess you could put either of these onto some store bought flatbread base, add some caramelized onion

What about a fruit salad? Or fruit with a dip, I do one with marshmallow fluff that always goes quickly. Breadsticks and marinara for dipping.

These are delicious even if they’re not fresh out of the oven.
