Wharton seems to be an especially tough admit from this area.
What’s the typical Wharton admit profile from here? |
| From our HS and other recent admitted kids from other HS's we know the admits to Penn (Wharton or not) were ALL legacy or URM (and 99% of those were both legacy & URM). Please know that this reply is not to undermine the kids, 99% are super solid students. It's just happens to be where Penn is leaning these days with admits from our circles (and I have no complaints). |
| Penn and Duke seem to have the same profiles for who they’re taking from DMV, smart and often hooked. If you’re unhooked it’s still worth a shot, but prepare to come in with strong awards and leadership |
Not all schools at Penn have similar acceptance rates tho Seems Wharton admits are more rare from this area vs seas and college |
| 100% of the kids I know who were admitted in the last 5 years were legacy/double legacy, with the exception of two, both of whom were faculty/staff. |
How would anyone begin to know this? |
| Triple Legacy for the win ✊🏿 |
| My spouse and I each have two degrees from there. Quadruple legacy lol. |
W school admit not legacy that is bunk the DmV believes. Not a minority. Male |
+1. If you want to base your analysis on what some anonymous randos on the internet say, good luck to you and your kid in the admissions game. The only ones with good data on this are in the Wharton admissions office |
Congrats! I'm PP and FYI - just because all the people we know fit legacy/URM doesn't mean that others without legacy/URM don't get in. We just don't know of any personally. |
| Legacy. |
| The only one I know in the past 2 yrs was a rowing commit. |
That's the only guarantee at Penn. |
| No legacy, immigrant who went to public school- MCPS |
