11-ish pm Sunday downtown Bethesda. Carjackers ran away WITHOUT the Porsche because they could not operate its stick shift! Silver lining for this poor man who was pistol-whipped... |
|
TBF, they followed him from DC.
It sounds like he came from the DC side of the border in order to lock up his business in downtown Bethesda for the night. They wanted that car and were going to carjack him wherever he ended up parking. They may have been stalking this guy for a while. |
| I was telling DH that driving a fancy car comes with these perils. |
| There was a carjacking about a year ago a block away from this one. Woman who worked at Fox News was carjacked around midnight near the CVS. |
| Stop. There is no crime in Bethesda. |
| What if we all start driving stick shifts as carjacking deterrence lol |
| They followed the victim from DC to Bethesda. Terrible. |
Aren't most of the 900 carjackings of just average cars though? |
| I think the easiest way to deal with this is probably for cars and law enforcement to more efficiently share location info. |
We drive an old car for this reason. I’d like a fun car but don’t want to risk it. Bethesda had a carjacking near a news or broadcast station. They tried to take a red SUV. |
That’s dumb sorry. Your chances of getting carjacked are still really low. |
| most likely kids. |
Seriously? We have the same grab and go thefts from CVS and Target as the rest of the area. There are ring camera videos at least 2x per week in my neighborhood of people trying car doors in the middle of the night. We've had cars stolen in my neighborhood. We probably have slightly fewer shootings but it's just a matter of time. I am really getting fed up and am ready to move. |
Sounds like PP was sarcastic, don’t you think? |
