Glad you posted, I am also curious.
But it doesn’t seem uncommon, does it, for a band to break up badly after awhile. |
| Oates had several solo concerts planned for earlier this month. The restraining order was to prevent him from singing the duo's songs. They've been in arbitration about who owns the songs. |
| It's supposedly a "confidential" lawsuit. I always figured the blonde one was the main writer of their biggest hits. They always stressed they were never a group. They would write their own songs, then come together to record and perform them, or something like that. |
|
Two big surprises for me when I heard this news - I had no idea the relationship deteriorated this much. I never thought I would read that Hall got a Restraining Order against Oates.
Second big thing, reading their ages in print was shocking. 77 and 75. Intellectually, I guess I'm not surprised they are that old but in my mind, they were like in their late 50s still. |
| That is older than I would have assumed! So their 80s hits were when they were in their 30s if not mid and late 30s. That is fairly old and uncommon for pop stars. |
| Love Daryl hall! So talented. Great tour with Todd rundgren. Also love live from Daryl’s house on YouTube. |
They are regular ol' baby boomer age--the boomer we all grew up watching on TV and hearing the music of are all around that age. |
The big stars of today - I mean actual today, Thanksgiving - Dolly Parton and Cher - are also 77! |
| It’s gone too far |
| Love so many of their songs - Private Eyes was my first fave pop song in elementary school. Daryl Halls voice is one of the best in pop music IMO |
| If you pick up your phone and call 719-26-OATES you'll get a computerized woman's voice telling you what numbers to press to hear one of four Hall & Oates songs. |
| Daryl is a diva and John is stable. John is also a highly respected song writer and unlike Daryl has never talked negatively. I think this is a bad look for Daryl. |
but ya know it don't matter anyway |
