Help Settle disagreement : How long would you cook a partially thawed 20.37lb turkey on 350?

Thawed it would be about 7 hours. It says it can take up to 50% longer for a frozen turkey. DH says cook it 7 more hours for a total of 14. That seems way longer than I would assume. I would have said cook it 9hours give/take as it’s not fully frozen.

Is it really 14 for a partially thawed?

Why aren’t you thawing it all the way? Seal that baby up and stick it in the sink or tub of water

I have never cooked it frozen.
But 14 hours sounds way too long.
Put the turkey in water and help it hurry up and defrost.
Get whatever is the biggest bowl you have and put the turkey in it. Pull the plastic covering off. Stick the turkey in the bowl. Put the bowl in the sink. Run cold water over the turkey. Let the turkey sit in the cold water for 10 minutes. Dump water. Do it again. Do this over and over until the turkey is defrosted. Pull the stuff out of the middle as soon as you can get it out. That will help the turkey defrost faster.
If you don't have a really big bowl that the turkey can fit in, then scrub the kitchen sink out really well, then rinse the sink really well and soak the turkey in the clean sink.

15 minutes per pound for thawed unstuffed turkey. Start a water bath.

Your turkey doesn’t not need 7-14 hours

Did you mean to say that it would take 50 % longer for a stuffed turkey? When I cook a turkey, the instructions that come with it has different cooking times for stuffed vs. not stuffed turkey.

Also, 50 % of 7 hours is 3 1/2 hours, so the answer to your math problem of 7 hours plus 50 % more would be 10 1/2 hours.

I would definitely do your best to thaw so you can season properly (can you brine or dry rub a frozen bird?)

For cooking, we go by internal temp more than time.

You can absolutely cook a partially (or completely!) frozen turkey. It will take up to 1.5 times longer to cook. An unstuffed, fully thawed turkey needs about 15 minutes per minute, so 5 hours for a 20 pound turkey. So figure up to 7.5 hours for a frozen bird, less if it's only partially frozen. Cook it at 325.

Op here. Yes! 50% longer is what I read. Re: the thawing - The packaging had a rip in the breast area that I didn’t notice earlier so we ended the water bath early and thus the half thawed bird. It started leaking which alerted me to the rip. I figured more bacteria would come for an exposed submerged bird. Baking it early was the best alternative it seemed. We do not stuff the turkey.
