DC homicide count at its highest in 20 years

Anonymous

Also of note is that the count is fast approaching 256, which was the number of homicides in 1999. It is very likely that this year will prove “worse than the ‘90s,” or at least one small part of them

Until rates of prosecutions by USAO and AG improve and until judges start ordering those charged with felony murder to be held, rather than released to continue violent mayhem, will just continue to accelerate decline in quality of life and public safety.

Instead of posting the exact same meaningless pablum in every thread about crime, consider that your time would be better spent ranting on a street corner. At least then you'd get some fresh air.

NP, but you are right. Nothing will change because of how we vote.

What? Do you think hard-left politicians like Janeese Lewis George and Charles Allen are in the business of cracking down on crime? They most certainly are not.

JLG says we can't arrest 17 year olds, even for murder, because jail will "traumatize" them

+1

Absolutely correct.

Violent crime is way down in almost every other big city (including Baltimore!). What's happening here is unique to DC.

I don't think any reasonable person would look at DC and conclude that everything is peachy keen. However, repeatedly bleating into the void "HURR DURR YOU GET WHAT YOU VOTE FOR" ignores the fact that much of the problems with DC's criminal justice system stem from entities unaccountable to the voting public. Unless Janeese Lewis George has taken up a position at the USAO and Charles Allen is moonlighting for CSOSA, tilting against those windmills accomplishes precisely nothing.

The "get what you vote for" PP should seek her catharsis elsewhere.

Oh look Janeese Lewis George is here. I’m sorry you’re going to lose next year (not sorry).

Another teenager was shot in Ward 4 today. That’s traumatizing.

They are accurate though, if you look at a lot of the damning data published by DC Crime Facts. Are there any local reporters on here? Because that one twitter account is doing a far better job of providing data based analysis of the issues impacting crime in DC.

It's our elected leaders who've adopted pillow soft policies on crime. Remember what JLG and others wanted to do with the criminal code was so incredibly criminal-friendly that even Joe Biden and other Democrats in Congress said it needed to be overturned. It's not some random coincidence that crime is skyrocketing in DC even as it plummets in virtually every other major city in this country.
