It was a beautiful art deco ring. It cost about $2k. I kept it in the same spot all the time. I wore it out on Thursday. Last night, I couldn't find it. I have turned my whole house upside down. I feel so upset. Anyone BTDT? Advice? I'm just so sad. |
Yes I lost a beautiful bracelet that I can’t even find used online. Someone stole it either my sisters or a coworker |
I lost my beloved Tiffany Etoile ring. It was the first nice piece of jewelry I'd bought for myself in my 20s. I tore the house apart. I drove around retracing where I'd been that day and called places to ask if it had been found.
About six months later, long after I'd given up on finding it, I was putting on a pair of dress shoes I rarely wear and something fell out. The ring had somehow gotten into these shoes! It must have been in my pants pocket and fallen out when I changed clothes. I hope you have a similar success story! |
Pray to St. Anthony.
St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please look around. My fabulous deco ring is lost and must be found. If it’s in your house, you’ll find it…unless your cleaning service stole it. Did you check your purse, your pockets, your coat, your bedside table, bathroom, kitchen sink, etc.? |
I lost a gorgeous ring my mom gave me, back a million years ago. Like an idiot I'd left it in an unlocked locker at the gym, and someone must have taken it. This was almost 15 years ago and I still feel terrible regret.
But it's done. What can you do? I'm sorry you lost the ring, OP. I don't have anything to make it better except to say you're not alone. And who knows - it may even turn up in the house. Won't that be a great surprise when it does! |
It happens. Don’t sweat it. |
I lost a piece of family diamond jewelry and it turned up 12 years later in a pair of socks that had apparently gone unworn for as long and had even made it through a move (my elderly mother actually admitted to putting it in there and forgetting about it for over a decade).
I was sick sick sick over it. But keep looking and check everything before you donate or throw it out. |
Years ago I lost the first part of diamond studs my parents bought me while I was on travel. I never take expensive jewelry on trips anymore. |
To help you get over it (if you don't find it): try and think that this ring was always meant to be in your possession for a limited period of time. Look back at the times you enjoyed this ring = it has served the purpose it always meant to have. |
A home health care aide stole a diamond necklace from my mom that also had significant sentimental value. She died a couple of years ago but remembering that necklace still hits me sometimes out of the blue. |
My engagement ring (a beautiful sapphire that we'd purchased in Thailand) was stolen from a hotel room. I didn't discover it until I was 600 miles away. It's been over 10 years and my heart still aches when I think of it. I'll never be able to afford a replacement. I punished myself for a very long time by not wearing any jewelry.
Hugs. I feel your pain. |
It's much better to have lost it while you were actively enjoying it. Instead of having it sit, protected, in a box.
Beautiful things were meant to be worn. You were doing that! But yes, it carries some risk. I hope it turn up OP. |
My mom had her diamond tennis bracelet stolen by staff on her memory care unit. You aren’t advised to wear things of value but It was a comfort to her bc it was a bracelet she wore everyday. I don’t care about the value but It burns me up when she expresses sadness that it’s gone and since she has dementia, we relive the same conversation and same sad feelings daily. I hope you find your ring, OP. |
Ugh. I lost the diamond tennis bracelet my parents gave me on my wedding day. It slipped off my wrist during an Easter egg hunt at church. That was about 15 years ago and I still feel awful about it. I loved that bracelet and it was so meaningful.
I hope you find yours OP! |
I'm sorry. I had a gorgeous Art Deco diamond ring that was my grandmother's. It was stolen by pest control people in my house. We all walked through the house together, two pest control people and myself and then at the end we were on my first floor near the door and one guy was writing out the estimate for me and the other guy said he'd "forgotten his flashlight" and ran back upstairs. The next day I noticed a bunch of jewelry gone the top of my dresser in my bedroom. I called the company, the woman there just yelled at me. |
