Gay-Friendly Schools That Are Not Super-Woke?

I'm looking for a gay-friendly school for my 8th grade son. Our family is not politically left-wing, and I don't want my son in a school where they teach about 100 different gender identities, "white fragility", and other associated stuff. I am fine with who he is, but I don't want him making his sexuality his entire personality.

Are there moderate schools that will be accepting of a gay child but aren't hyper-left wing on cultural issues? We just need him to be supported and respected. We aren't looking for much more.

Amazing number of people looking for Catholic or conservative schools that are also gay-friendly lately.

I don’t have suggestions for you, but you could check out the recent thread about LGBTQ-friendly Catholic schools for a place to start.

NP. So others don't think that it is okay for people to be gay and conservative? Gay and religious? Or gay and politically moderate? If someone is gay, they can't be anything other than "woke" and super liberal? One part of what the fight for equality was all about was being able to be gay without having that single issue define you. It would be better if people of all political stripes could be out and accepted.

Nope nope nope. Didn’t you get the memo? To be gay, you need to be absorbed into the homogenous, conformist subculture. Don’t want to be a walking stereotype? Sorry. You aren’t a real gay.

Potomac has stayed out of politics lately which has been nice. There are several openly gay kids who are included and respected.

What a peculiar outlook. Why are you so afraid of these topics? You can't deal with cognitive dissonance?

You do realize it's possible to discuss these matters without internalizing them, right? No one is saying you are a bad person because of systemic racism and your well-meaning parents taught you to be color blind.

A variant on the political posts that go "I'm a Democrat but I really hate this DEI/equity stuff and am going to vote for a Republican for the school board."

It's some weird fantasy thing that right-wing nut jobs have in their head. Obviously the election proved that just isn't anything that really happened.
