Thread for actual numbers as results come in, not discussion.
Big races are in Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey and (duh) Virginia. Also ballot questions on abortion and marijuana legalization in Ohio plus a Supreme Court seat in Pennsylvania. The forecasters at Split Ticket have already called Kentucky for incumbent Democratic Governor Andy Beshear. https://twitter.com/splitticket_/status/1722044539064422665?s=46&t=kf1qYlCXQnKgUhJWEIu2vg |
Dave “I’ve Seen Enough” Wasserman has already called KY Governor for Beshear. |
The OH ballot is going well according to exit polling. |
Yup and turnout is much bigger than the august special election (unsurprisingly) |
How did they call the KY race so quickly? |
Beshear is performing better everywhere that’s reported so far than he did when he won last time. |
Great result from Kentucky! |
The experts compare results county by county to 4 years ago, and in each return. Bashear was running 3-4 points better in the red areas, so it was easy to extrapolite to statewide. |
This is a lesson for democrats to get back into those rural red areas. They are not lost to MAGA. |
The cynic in me wonders whether having a POC GOP candidate against a white incumbent played a role in Kentucky. |
Ahh, this is so nice to open this thread and see good news. Yay! |
