Where are you on the introvert/extrovert scale?

Where are you on the introvert/extrovert scale, and what is your ideal level of social interaction? Like how frequent do you want/crave socializing, or how often do you want/crave alone time?

I would say I'm introvert but closer to the ambivert side (INFJ). I'm great at small talk, am friendly and make friends easily (but I don't necessarily keep them because I get overloaded with "too much"). I work in person (teacher) and get PLENTY of social interaction all week, and crave alone time on weekends and evenings. I can handle one non-work social thing a week, but I really, really need time to recharge alone.

I used to be a true ambivert but then had a really bad social experience with a friend group in my early 30s and now I'm an introvert (but really an ambivert with social anxiety). The older I get, the less interest I have in fixing my anxiety, though, so I think as a practical matter I'm just an introvert now.

To copy a PP, I think I’m an ambivert with anxiety.

Oh, wow. I'm an introvert and an INTJ. Didn't know there was overlap with that.

I'm also INFJ, and I am 48% extrovert, 52% introvert.

I literally never crave interaction, and only do it because it’s socially acceptable and I am sometimes embarrassed to say how long it’s been since talking to anyone. I have to be in front of people Fridays and Saturdays, but sometimes don’t talk from Saturday afternoon until the following Friday.

I do sometimes crave interaction with dogs, so obviously I have to chat with their humans to do that.

In Myers Briggs I test as borderline I/E, and otherwise a strong NFJ.
I enjoy socializing, but I don't need to socialize. And when I do socialize, I need to recover after.

I'm an INFJ as well, and I'm sure I've become more introverted as I've aged. I'm friendly and good with small talk/chit-chat, but don't make friends easily as I've got some social anxiety. I feel lonely as I don't have any close friends in the DMV, and I'm bad at keeping in touch with my longtime friends out of state.

The Myers Briggs chart above doesn't make sense to me. At different points in my life, I have been both an INTP and an ENTP. I'm always right on the edge of I/E. I guess that makes me an Ambivert that leans towards an introvert? I truly want to be social, but I'm not great at it and I get tired after a while. In my younger days, I had a HUGE group of friends and I was one of the organizers. I am no longer like that.
