For those that think in terms of racial and ethnic essentialism and determinism, it should be pointed out that Asians and Jews are highly "overrepresented" in all of the prestigious colleges and universities.

This fact doesn't stop Tablet magazine from catastrophizing about "vanishing" populations:

I read on DCUM that there is a Hillel Campus Guide. In general I wouldn't get advice here - people aren't that friendly. I would try to talk to friends IRL or your rabbi.

Safe schools for Asian students
Safe schools for LGBTQ students
Safe schools for Black students
Safe schools for female students
Safe schools for Muslim students

How about safe schools in general? Where can our kids go where school is just about school?

I'm afraid OP is just another culture warrior trying to use a sincere worry and throw gas on it for political purposes.

The current climate on college campuses is different than strength in numbers- We are a Jewish family and I have 2 kids at different colleges. One of the schools has been more transparent than the other one, even with the large Jewish populations. The best schools right now are Florida State schools (but you may not like other things) My suggestions to any Jewish family with a high school senior, is to apply everywhere on their list and consider the school's actions when making that final decision. I would be hesitant to apply ED to any school.

DCUM is the worst place to ask about safety of Jewish students. There are better places online. I suggest going there and having this thread shutdown.

Those groups may all be marginalized but no one is marching around calling for their murder. Jewish students are under particular threat right now. Please open your eyes and acknowledge it!

Any school with neither a large jewish or arab population, or an overt political tilt.

That probably captures 98% of all colleges in the US.

But Florida is not safe for gay kids. So it is not safe.

Similarly, state educational systems that are not allowed to present history objectively are dangerous for oppressed communities. So no, I would not head south (home of Christian evangelicals, may I add).

Do you want a place where all students are physically safe but there will be a Palestinian view point or a place where your kids are mentally safe- no criticism of Israel, everyone thinks Israel is great and Palestinians/arabs are seen and treated as terrorists?
