I am DONE with spending money

Anonymous
I’m not going to spend anything in 2024 beyond the bare necessities. No eating out, no vacations, no toys, done. DONE with these price increases everywhere. Haven’t gone to Starbucks in months and haven’t been to a restaurant in 3 weeks and I don’t feel any temptation to go back. Travel is overrated as well. My computers and phone can easily last another few years.

I’m not even struggling to afford the inflated prices I’m just fed up with the tipflation, greedflation, excuseflation and the sub par service as of late.

If nobody's spending money, the economy will go down.

…Then op loses job in the ensuing recession. But boy did she show them!

This tells me you don't have a healthy relationship with your disposable income.

Instead of great ups and downs, figure out what you *can* spend month by month. A lot will be necessities, some of it may be luxuries.

I never go to Starbucks (make better drinks at home), but I enjoy lunching out with friends or occasionally getting take-out for my family. As prices have increased, we do it less. But we don't stop.

We could use a recession right about now. Maybe that will stop companies from thinking they can raise prices another 5-10% next year.

Anyone who says that should be the first to lose their job.

Dear Lord. Such insane opinions. The first to suffer will be workers like you.

Yup. Such a privileged a-hole remark.

So you would rather have millions lose jobs then have gas go from $4/gallon to $4.40/gallon? Ok

Logical mind

There are so many opportunities to cut back without going cold Turkey. Get rid of cable, one or two streaming services, Starbucks, the list goes on. Work with your spouse and kids to make it a family effort.

+1 I don’t get it either??

Believe me, I am also fed up with prices and wish I could cut back on everything, but with two teens the expenses just keep racking up. We did make a few cuts to household expenses to offset BS price increases

What took you so long! First time ever I have the money, but there's nothing to buy. I already take 2-3 vacations a year. 4 would kill the excitement.

Might want to get that impulsivity checked out, OP. Reads like ADHD to me. You know damm well you're going to keep spending with that mindset.
