| I need to bring a dessert to a potluck (mainly adults) tomorrow and don't have a lot of time. Looking for suggestions for something fairly easy that's a crowd pleaser. Thanks! |
| Are you trying to be elegant with fresh fruit and a fancy pastry, or are you okay with using premade processed foods like pudding, or condensed milk, or the like? |
| Make brownies. The Ghirardelli box mix is good. They will disappear! |
Someone else is bringing fruit salad. I just want something yummy and easy. Brownies might be a good idea. Any way I could elevate them, maybe with frosting? |
I’m the brownie PP. You could sprinkle powdered sugar on top, drizzle with salted caramel, or top with a cream cheese frosting. Or sprinkle crushed peppermints on top. I like them plain though! |
| Easy, no bake, surprisingly tasty: https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a36431426/no-bake-key-lime-pie-recipe/ |
I was also thinking to make a boxed dessert. You could grab boxed pumpkin bread mix or banana bread mix from Trader Joe's. |
I know this isn’t helpful but I would seriously side-eye someone bringing fruit salad if tasked with a dessert |
This. I like to swirl in some good quality raspberry jam. Top with fresh raspberries if you like and cut into very small squares. People love them. |
I started subsituting (inspired by that DCUM thread) -- butter instead of oil, milk instead of water, and I very slightly undercook. Oh my god. incredible. Took them to a school event recently and they disappeared within minutes. |
Key lime desserts are always a big hit. |
| Key lime would be perfect for this last bit of warm weather. |
| Oatmeal raisin cookies and add cranberries for color, or make pumpkin cookies. You could also buy something. |
| My pineapple upside down squares are always a massive hit |
| Blondies or pumpkin chocolate chip bars. |
