I am doubtful, if the recipe has raisins.

This cake is delicious and lovely. You’d never know it was from cooking light.

I do not use fat free cream cheese and believe I have substituted light butter for the margarine.

I made this last week. I thought it was excellent, but I think I'll chop the apples much smaller. It took longer to cook than the recipe says too.

I made this last week with butter and full fat cream cheese. I received lots of compliments. Added butter and pecans to the topping.

I’ve been making this since it came out. Always a hit I always use butter but have used fat free, light and regular cream cheese and no one can tell.

Good to know butter works, is that generally the case?

I have some old family recipes with margarine and I didn't know if I could just use butter 1:1. Mom swears that some of the fake stuff is helpful with pie crusts, but margarine and Crisco weird me out so I just don't eat her baked goods.

Show-stopping implies some visual beauty, in which case, only the French apple tart or French Tarte Tatin can be contenders:

I just made this today. It is so good with or without the butterscotch sauce. Just don't undercook it and let it sit a couple of hours before you eat it. So good!

I have had very good luck subbing coconut oil for Crisco in old recipes. The refined stuff doesn't taste like coconut.

I make one very similar to this, also leave out the sauce/topping. It's very good!
