I've made this twice in the last week. It's very easy/quick to make, and easy to make very pretty. You can basically make it look like the french tart a PP posted above by decoratively arranging the apple slices. The only change I made was to top it with a blend of white and brown sugar (with a dash of cardamom) instead of only white sugar. I also forgot the confectioner sugar both times and it was fine.

This is my go to as well, but I use butter and full fat cream cheese. |
Wait - you don't eat your own mom's baked goods that she makes for you because she uses margarine/Crisco??! |
