Do you tip at Starbucks?

Anonymous
I know I know-- too many tipping threads. But I'm not asking what you think about tipping. I just want to know:

Do you tip at Starbucks? And please share if you order via app or at the register, and whether you consume on premises, and if that impacts your decision.

Thanks!

I pay cash and put the remaining coins in the cup.

Yes. Through the app. In turn, they put stickers on my cup.

No, either on app or at counter.

Nope. I'm done tipping like this.

No.

I've started paying with cash so I don't get the tip screen.

Do you know this for sure? OP here. This was a question I had.

I have never in my life tipped at Starbucks and it's so ingrained that even though I am a tipper generally, it just never occurred to me. But they added a tip line on the app and even a little prompt that reminds you "Ok at to pay $$ plus $0 for tip" and I suddenly felt guilty about it!

I pay for 90% of Starbuck orders with gift cards someone else gave me or with points I earned through the app, so obviously I could tip. And I'm not opposed to it, exactly. I just had come to think of Starbucks as like McDonalds, just a place where tipping doesn't cross my mind. And I'm wondering if I should adjust that idea.

Weird. I only get the stickers when I tip, and I go to the same Starbucks every week.

I used to pre-Covid, but now I never do.

No, I usually order through the app so it's easy not to and to be honest I don't feel guilty about it the way I would if i was ordering in person.

I work in a hospital and we have a quasi Starbucks where they make certain Starbucks drinks but it's the regular cafeteria employees and you can't use the app - there is no tip option and I do appreciate that (the cafeteria workers are unionized and have benefits - I would rather coffee shops do this and pay their employees better rather than forcing them to rely on tips).

Yes, $1.

Absolutely!

No, just kidding, I don't even go to Starbucks because I don't drink coffee or any other Starbucks drink. If I get a gift card I either give it to someone else or go there and buy some breakfast items with it.

But if I did go to Starbucks I would tip, probably a dollar. My philosophy is if I can afford $6 for a drink I can also afford a $1 tip.
