Gaza War, Part 3

No Netanyahu is a moderate and most of the country is to the right of him.

Two air strikes targeted journalists, displaced people in Al-Aqsa Hospital
Hind Khoudary, reporting from Al-Aqsa Hospital

The Israeli air force targeted two tents with two air strikes inside the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound which had a lot of Palestinians seeking refuge. It was also the place where journalists worked. The tents that were stuck were next to each other, resulting in casualties.

This is who Biden supports unconditionally?

The summary is that the Palestinians just need to move on and accept Israel. The challenge that the video didn’t address is the conditions that Palestinian live under and how this results in anger and stress that produces Hamas. Maybe the Israelis just don’t see this?

I agree Palestinians need to accept they are not moving back to their ancestral homes and Israel is a country. But israelis need to acknowledge that they’ve harmed the Palestinian so that they make changes to stop doing so.

They won’t move on. Part of the problem is Palestinians have the same pathology and DNA as Jews. Both stubborn and can’t move on or forgive. Not to compare but I have to compare: do Jews ever wonder by Bedouins in Israel are easy to deal with? It’s because they have a history of being nomadic.

Jews and Palestinians are people that don’t know how to make a deal. They want the land without any oil when the entire region is full of oil.

They will not move on because Hamas’ sole goal is the complete elimination of the Jewish people, not just in Israel, but globally. Israel has offered deal after deal, giving Palestinians offers to preserve their sovereignty and to allow them autonomy, over and over since the 1940s. Each time, the PA, Hamas, and other Palestinian supremacy groups have broken their agreements basically immediately, attacked Israel, and committed untold horrors against not just the State of Israel, but against innocent Israelis.

Both Hamas’ and the PA’s history of governance, if you can call it that, is a history of corruption, brutality, and placing their holy Jihad against the Jewish People over their people’s needs. They steal aid that should be going to the Palestinian people to sell to the rich and powerful in Gaza and the West Bank. They dig up what little infrastructure is present in the state to build out their military capacity, they shoot their own people when they are trying to follow Israel’s temporary evacuation orders - then complain when Israeli rockets kill civilians.

Throughout the past 20 years, Israel has been patient. They have intended to build through a 2-state solution, regardless of whether Hamas/the PA have any intention of settling for a 2-state solution. They have reacted to terrorist attacks with limited missions, and hoped beyond hope that over time Hamas and the PA would moderate their stance and that something that could even arguably be considered a functional government would grow out of the ashes. In the West Bank, the PA has, to a minor extent, moderated and focused itself, however after 10/7, it is clear that Hamas has zero intention or willingness to support their people. they absolutely must destroy Hamas, and decimate their military and educational infrastructure, for Israel’s continued safety, and for the innocent Palestinian people. That is what the IDF’s mission is, and anybody who cares even a little about the innocent civilians- on both sides of this tragedy - must support Israel in their mission to remove Hamas from Gaza, because there will be no solution until Hamas is gone, and because Hamas and their Allie’s in the UNRWA, the PA, and other organizations must be removed from holding any sway in the Middle East.

Very good quality mushrooms in this one.

These terrorists need to face consequences.

I am pro-Israel. But I think the settlers need to be treated like the trespassers, squatters and thieves that they are.

Hamas is in Manhattan? Looks like the IDF will have to redirect

Haha. Yes, this was not "Hamas" but 3 serial protesters who held up a Free Palestine flag. Since we are on this topic, in fact Pope Francis calls for Gaza ceasefire as he leads Easter Mass.

I’m as opposed to Zionist misconduct as anyone (and very sympathetic to the Palestinian plight), but I have zero patience for this kind of nonsense.

Too many detained suspects are roughed up for no reason. These people, on the other hand, earned the rough treatment they received being escorted out.

Me, too. Absolutely.

And Orthodox Jews should be serving in the IDF, too. No more exemptions. They want to support the most hawkish policies, they can put their money where their mouths are.

They have no right to interrupt a religious service. Three men were arrested. Good. Let's see if they are actually prosecuted.
And, at this point, they are no different than Hamas.

Food for thought. Long thread. Read the whole thing. I have copied the last posting as a summation.

Just consider the math here: If about 1.5% of the population has been killed in Gaza during the war, but conservatively around 30% of those have been militants, how would that be feasible if Israel was just bombing and killing people indiscriminately?

If it was just random bombing, you would proportionally need to kill about 30% of the total Gaza population (~630K) to coincidentally take out 30% of the subgroup of Hamas’ militants. You can argue that one or another particular military action/strategy was wrong or that you don’t believe Israel should be trying to take out Hamas at all if there is this much collateral damage, but the indiscriminate claim just doesn’t stand up to any logical scrutiny. Based on the numbers, the attacks are clearly targeted at Hamas and the evacuations are clearly meant to minimize outside deaths.

The outcome, while tragic, is indicative of a complicated war that Hamas chose to start on 10/7, not a genocide that Israel is intentionally pursuing.

Hope that helps future discussions. I will provide links to the cited information in this week’s newsletter.

Not true. The settlers are to the right and there’s a reason Netanyahu had to pander to them.

Regular Israelis don’t like him or care for him.

I don’t think many Israelis or Palestinians would cry over Netanyahu and Abbas and Hamas disappearing tomorrow from politics

I doubt they’ll be prosecuted. There are left wing groups who post bail for the protestors. Unless they’re given 1/6 time, these things will keep happening and probably Joe Biden will be heckled again during the DNC. Left wing groups are really odd. I don’t see them do anything at MAGA rallies
