I don’t know anyone who financially helps their parents. Is everyone you know poor?

Completely normal. In fact, it’s normally the other way around.

WTF? Most of us are not helping our parents.

Do your parents expect you to help them financially?

I don't know about other countries, but most 30 somethings in the US aren't providing financial assistance to their parents. In this day and age, it's usually the other way around.

It's normal for non-immigrant's children. They actually get their college and/or first house paid for by their parents.

It's not normal for immigrant's children. You are expected to help after your parents' sacrifice.
