They are currently into Wild Kratts, Rainbow High and Babysitters club.
They started watching babysitter's club recently, and I am not sure that it is appropriate. There is this episode where one of the girls called a divorce mother disorganized, and the mother was telling one of the girls how she gave up so much for her ex husband. Is this appropriate content? My 8 year old told me she is getting to old for WildKratts, but they love this show, and I am hoping there is something similar that they might be interested in. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
| You could just let them loose on Disney+ and they can find what they like. |

There was just a thread on this for 7yo and 9yo and while that's younger than your children, I think a lot of the suggestions (e.g., baking competition shows) will carry over
Need a family show...7yr old and 9yr old . . . https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1153255.page Also this thread from 2021 Good tv shows for 9 year old that aren’t complete garbage? https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/995618.page |
| PP again. I forgot to add my kids (8&11) like Inbestigators and Lego Masters (and the similar one with Dominos). |
| My.now 11yo and I have watched Survivor together since she was 8. The new season starts soon. |
Thanks! There are quite a few promising options in these threads. I will suggest them. |
Thanks PP. I don't think it's occurred to them to randomly explore. Lol |
The bolded should be a hit. Thanks! |
Thanks PP. I would enjoy Survivor so this has great potential as a show we could watch together. |

Just Add Magic
A Series of Unfortunate Events Flight 29 Down Design Squad Mythbusters Fetch with Ruff Ruffman Cooking Shows - Chopped, Cake Decorating, etc. old shows: Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Carol Burnett, Gilligan’s Island, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Charlie’s Angels, I Love Lucy, etc. |
| My 8 year old DD loves Project Runway Jr and British Bake-Off Jr. |
| Just Add Magic!!! |
Yeah calm down and realize your kids didn’t even care about that part of the show bc it was adults talking too much and have no idea it has any deep meaning. But since you are so worried about something so incredibly benign stick with old sitcoms - The Brady Bunch, Bewitched, Leave it to Beaver. - of but just know the adults kiss in those shows so that might be too racy |
| Jessie, Liv and Maddie, and Full house! |

In the last couple of years, my 9-10 year old DD has loved Just Add Magic and the Avatar - Last Airbender. She also liked the babysitter's club series you are talking about and Anne with an E. It's old, but she also really liked Brainchild.
She loves Cooking and Baking shows (British Bake Off Jr., Bake Squad, Nailed It, Is it Cake...). She liked Lego Masters a lot. She's outgrown the PBS shows (although she secretly enjoys Bluey when her 4 year old sister is watching it .
