The posters you are talking about don't even see people like mechanics and waiters and gas line technicians. The compare themselves exclusively to people they consider peers and don't really even think of people like their nanny or their kids' teachers or the people who clean their house, take care of their lawn, tutor their kids, etc., as equals in the same way.

Everyone does this to some extent but people in the DMV who are obsessed with their kids being "successful" are among the worst offenders. I once told a dinner party of people that I'd be okay if my kid didn't go to college at all, as long as they had a plan for their future that made sense and were motivated to work towards it, and people just got quiet and changed the subject. These are folks who define success very, very narrowly and don't have time or patience for the idea that what they are trying to give their kid might not even be worthwhile in the end.

Non sequitur - my kid feels soooooo bad for anyone named Karen. I keep trying to tell her it's going to be OK, they'll survive. This too shall pass, and most actual named-Karens take it with a grain of salt.

ALSO, I am currently SICK of the poster who is hell bent that Alec Baldwin was to blame and should go to jail. I don't know if he is, because I do not work in the film industry and have never seen the safety rules on sets. This crazed poster does not know either, but cannot stop posting about it, despite knowing nothing about what actually happened.

That may be me. I actually do know him and I completely believe he should go to jail for his bad acts.

Here's why:
1) He should not have had the gun because the gun was not called for in the scene that was being rehearsed,
2) he should not have taken the gun from someone who was not the armorer,
3) he should not have pointed the gun at people, and
4) he should not have pulled the trigger on the gun.

Alec Baldwin should be brought up on criminal charges and thrown into jail, and the family of the dead woman and the people who were shot should sue him for every penny he has and will ever have.

Yes- I think they have deep insecurity about getting a picture of themselves and family and they are jealous of the organized people who do these every year.

I can't stand the people who just post "Troll" and nothing else. If you honestly think someone's a troll, then report the post. Also can't stand the people who write to Jeff in a post, as if he reads every single post here. They drive me nuts.
