| Urbana is good but I’m not sold that they are good enough to beat Bullis. Maybe Gavin and his IB transfers will pull it off but they haven’t played anyone yet. |
It's honestly their year to win it! Lots of Seniors. |
This is a joke right. I watched a 2027 club team missing their best players beat Urbana by 15 and Urbana had their 3 commits. Bullis will score as many as they want to. |
And reclasses. Doesn't hurt when you both recruit, and give scholarships for lax too. |
| By MD public standards, Urbana is good. If they were a private school team they would be more like Potomac or St. Andrews. I don't think they will win. They beat up on a few Fred Co teams like TJ and Middletown so far this year so they haven't had a test yet. They used to scrimmage Prep for years and it was essentially Prep's JV curb stomping them. Gibb didn't even coach the game. He stood at the end of the bench and let his assistants do it. They recruit so so they are feeling it after winning two state titles in 3 years. Bullis should give them a reality check. |
Bullis may even play 3 qtrs with 2027 players just to keep in entertaining. |
This should be changed to "I don't think they will score." In other news, The Heights blows out perennial public power Yorktown 20-9. The dream is still alive for WCAC final 4. |
I realize there is no truly great team this year, but Urbana? Really? And SSSA and STA are not at Bullis level. They have Prep and Landon left that can challenge them, and I’m not even 100% sold on Prep. It’s probably Landon and Bullis and as mentioned above, twice. |
| I’d like to see the Heights play Episcopal. I’d take EHS 12-7. |
I think the heights could beat Cornell this year. Their strength of schedule is off the charts |
The perennial power is 1-6 this year - don’t get too excited. Urbana would beat Yorktown far worse (Broadneck beat Yorktown 22-1). Urbana is way better than The Heights but still can’t play with Bullis. |

Based on recent play, here is how things stack up through my lens.
1. Landon - the Bears are playing at a very high level, scoring across the board, but competition since the Florida trip has been sparse. Don't take Severna Park lightly. The schedule picks up the following week. 2. Bullis - While the Bulldogs are on a 4-game winning streak, Episcopal gave them all they could handle for 3 quarters last week. Interesting matchup against Urbana this week. 3. DeMatha - don't be fooled by the Stags loss to LaSalle last week - LaSalle is a very good program. Senior laden Stags will be looking to prove themselves come Tuesday vs the Cadets. 4. St Johns - Cadets can make a statement this week with league games against traditional WCAC powers, DeMatha and PVI. Both games at home. 5. Georgetown Prep - Lil Hoyas are on a two-game winning streak. Monster non-league showdown against Good Counsel on Wednesday followed up with a tough matchup against league foe Episcopal. 6. Gonzaga - a brutal stretch of games for the Purple Eagles begins this week. PVI, The Heights and then Landon the following week. 7. Good Counsel - the Falcons made a statement on Friday night with win over PVI. How they do against Prep this week will tell us just far this program has come under Dane Smit. 8. Episcopal - played Bullis very tight, but depth is a factor for the Maroon. Tough stretch this week with Christchurch and Georgetown Prep on deck. 9. The Heights - we will find out on Friday if the Cavs are contenders when they host Gonzaga. 10. Ryken - expect the Knights to cruise to victory this week with games against Saint Andrews, Bishop McNamara, and O'Connell. Neutral |
Only place you will see Landon at #1 is on this platform posted by a Landon parent. |
Last week's US Lacrosse National Poll had Landon ranked 18th and Bullis ranked 23rd, respectively. Only two DMV teams ranked in the national top 25 right now. I agree with the rankings from above but I'd switch SJC with DeMatha. SJC will be the favorite on Tuesday afternoon. |
Dematha at 3 and you think it's a Landon parent? Your hatred blinds you. |
