I mean if you need something to do, sure, but I think you're massively over estimating your influence here. They don't care and aren't going to override the county road authorities. |
I bet you are a parent who takes a random 2 weeks off for an international vacation! The kids need CULTURE! |
CALM DOWN |
Entire neighborhood not plowed even once. The bus is unsafe on these hilly, icy roads. |
Lay off the ALL CAPS, boomer |
bro you are not well. |
tell him to call VDOT asap and get all the roads cleared NOW. then tell him to call fcps transportation and tell them no bus driver better be calling out and that they need to be at the depot at 630am in the icy roads to warm up the buses properly. and if all that can't be done, they better do virtual learning. ![]() |
Okay, this is pretty funny. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
It’s cute that you think the governor gives a F about you or your kid. |
Since I’m already remote, have plenty of paid time off to use, have a large suburban home in which we can relax, a full chest freezer, and my kids are pretty self sufficient teens, I am handling it just fine. That does not mean I shouldn’t have empathy for those in very different situations for whom taking time off from work has negative consequences. |
PP may have better luck with emailing Trump. |
Our High School has three roads that lead to it that are all heavily used by buses and student/teacher/kissnride cars. Two of the streets run far through neighborhoods and look as though they have not once had a plow come through them. Main roads are good around us but most side roads are horrible.Unless a miracle happens tonight there is no way it is safe for buses and cars to get to that high school. |
Which writing multiple whining screeds on the internet is doing nothing to help them solve. |
You know - this whole exchange is quite unfair. There is always some parent who comes on and says they need the kids to go back to school (because it was a hectic 2 weeks, because they have to work, whatever) and always the nasty trolls that come out and lecture everyone on being a parent. On the other side, there is always a parent who is worried about ice and someone who provides a lecture on living in Alaska. If covid has taught us nothing else, we should have learned that there are various levels of risk tolerance and various levels of need to maintain routine. Tomorrow is truly a tough call. They could go either way depending of which side of the risk line they come down on. |
Did anyone else hear that there was a disagreement between administration and the school board on whether to close schools tomorrow, and they're trying to hash it out now? |
