No words. |
I just saw this. I am speechless and heartbroken. One of their sons is a Marine, another is at a TX university and two younger girls are in 10th and 7th grades. |
My God. This has to stop. |

There's a video of the cops pinning a parent to the ground to prevent them from trying to help their kid.
But reportedly they took their own children out. So the "good guys with guns" not only did nothing, they assaulted and argued with parents who wanted to help their kids. |

Im sorry, but these are matters of post-Heller and MacDonald jurisprudence under the Second Amendment. The Supreme Court will not outlaw assault rifles. The Supreme Court will not raise the minimum age of purchase to 21. The Fourth Citcuit already has invalidated a prohibition against handgun sales to anyone under 21. They will have a harder time with restrictions on high capacity magazines. Bans for untraceable ghost guns are already being challenged as was the banning of bump stocks after Las Vegas. Unrestricted gun rights is something that will keep Clarence Thomas snd other Federalist Society fanatics on the bench for years to come. |
My god. |
Do you think for a second that the person shooting up the PP's school legally purchased that gun? No. |
Please say this is not true. |
I recognize it is still possible for someone to get such weapons in another state and travel back here with them, but the likelihood of an impulsive teenager having that capacity to do all that travel and planning is small. This teenager went to his local gun shop and purchase an arsenal. I wonder if the gun shop owner engaged him in any conversation at all about his intentions? We still have too many gun deaths in Massachusetts- but the rate is very low compared to elsewhere. I don’t know why you people in red states tolerate this wholly unnecessary death toll. https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/apr/24/us-gun-violence-deaths-massachusetts-expert |
Most recent gun massacres have taken place with legally purchased firearms. Educate yourself about the guns laws in your state and others adjacent to yours. |
Relatedly, there are only 7 states + the district where assault weapons are banned. Are these state laws at risk? What can we do at the local and state level to mitigate the risk of mass shootings? I have given up on my country. Still have some hope for my state (Maryland). |
I'm betting on legally purchased. Most mass shooters manage to buy guns legally |
