We're looking to move to the area. Here's the listing:
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3408-34th-Pl-NW-Washington-DC-20016/455188_zpid/ I think it has a lot of curb appeal and is in a great location. There's a nice backyard, which connects to Rosedale (fun!). The overall size is about right for us. I worry, though, that it really looks like a flip on the inside. There just doesn't seem to be much personality... a pretty cookie cutter modern home, other than just a few touches. I'm also not sure about the bedroom size, the backyard that's kinda below grade, and the lack of parking. Maybe I'm just nitpicking. What do you think? |

Lovely house OP. Some of the touches are a bit pedestrian and I don't like the black iron shelving in front of the two kitchen windows, that's a super odd choice. Not sure what you mean about below grade back yard? seems nice and flat to me. Parking in that area is what it is. You could always add a driveway by slicing out a portion of the front yard and make a parking pad. Lovely house overall.

| I agree about the inside. If I was buying at that price point and wanted generic trendy finishes, I’d just get a new build in Arlington ir Bethesda. There are so many lovely historical houses in the city with character. This one just doesn’t wow me. |
Agree. It feels incredibly bland. It is what I would expect from a new build. |
| Ugh these realtors are ruining houses by painting them all white. |
Since when do realtors paint houses
|
| Replace light fixtures; tear out horrible metal shelving in kitchen; add some paint. |
| I think it is lovely. Easy, minor cosmetic updates. And what a location. I'll bet it's under contract within a week. |
| Hard to tell how big the master is, wish there was a floor plan. |
| I wonder why they took out all the original floors. They can't ALL have been in bad shape... |
OP here. This is where we’re leaning. Not how we would have done the interior, but some paint and lighting changes would go a long way. Hope we’ll get a chance to see it. Agree it’ll move quick. |
| For $3.4 million you can get a big house on multiple acres of land in a good school district instead of a creepy Victorian in the city. |
| The street is rather narrow and parking can be a challenge |
On the upside, it's quiet. |
|
The decor is very "on trend" but I for one am delighted we've moved on from Millennial Greige.
You can change things about the interior. Do you like the location? Do you like the layout, mostly? I don't think you'll have a problem with street parking. You can also very easily park on Newark if needed. |
