DS’s counselor is recommending as a target school.

DS graduated last year. Had a great time. But he liked the big school / football / party town vibe. He has a job now, so it’s a win.

The Honors College is outstanding. Many turn down Ivies for free education at UGA Honors College / Foundation Fellows.

Athens is a great college town, but is now a bit crowded.

UGA is proof that southern flagships can offer a top education.

Lots of sophisticated students from the Atlanta Metro area. If the UGA Honors College was ranked separately as an LAC, it would probably be ranked among the top 2 or 3 LACs.

DS has UGA and UW-Madison ranked about the same on his list. Besides location & climate, how would these two compare (both targets for DS, but probably not Honors; likely Econ major)

UW-M is much higher ranked in USNWR, Niche, etc and also sends many more graduates to Econ PhD programs which suggests a stronger department.

Cite? Percentage would be more important than the total.

Yes, seriously.

You misunderstand. Honors Colleges are separated in many respects from the rest of a university so it is not the same as just evaluating the top 10% of students at any college or university.
