Sanity Check - DH in Boxers

How acceptable is it for a middle aged man to do things outdoors or go on small errands wearing boxer shorts and flip flops? (Plus a shirt, though it might be a tank.)

I’m talking about things like going out to get the mail, mowing the grass or working on a car in the driveway. Barbecuing. Maybe doing a short errand like driving to KFC or the hardware store.

Zero percent acceptable.

I don't think it's acceptable at all.

Hard no.

Absolutely never acceptable. That’s wild.

not acceptable- wtf- they have a flap! he could flash someone. Do you go outside in your underwear? the mailbox/end of driveway for newspaper and even then to my mind- wear a robe, do you have to advertise that your ancestors came over in steerage?

Do you mean wearing underwear? Then no, not acceptable.

Or are you saying casual shorts? Then it’s fine.

Exactly. This is the argument—they’re just shorts. They cover as much as most casual shorts with a shorter-side inseam.

I thought this was going to be about him hanging around the house in boxers. That’s bad enough.

Outdoors, on your own property, but only if there is no chance neighbors are around (like, you live on top of a mountain a rural area or on a wooded 10-acre lot). Otherwise, never.

Absolutely not!!

Hard no from me. Growing up I had a friend whose dad always walked around in boxers and I avoided going to her house like the plague because it made me so uncomfortable.
