You're wrong about the bolded. The split only includes one street from Franklin Farm. The rest are all separate small neighborhoods. |
You're just figuring this out? |
She completely ignores that 30 or so percent of Crossfield is in her district. Everything north of Folkstone/West Ox is Hunter Mill, including Crossfield itself. |
You forget that Coates and McNair - two very high FARMS schools - are being zoned out of Westfield. |
| Shouldn’t Karl Frisch and Sandy Anderson be involved as their schools have the potential to be impacted. |
I think what's funny about this is that I don't think Skyview's demographics are going to be much different than South Lakes |
And, they only had part of Floris. Some MC/UMC from Floris, but also multi family housing from Floris. |
How does this help Centreville's overcrowding? That's adding in a lot more then you are subtracting. |
No, but I definitely was giving it some deep, pensive thought though. |
Centreville is being renovated and expanded to hold 3000 students. Those changes help justify the renovation. |
But then you’re emptying out Fairfax HS. As long as FCPS is operating Fairfax, you can’t justify a monster expansion of Centreville that leaves Fairfax far under capacity. If FCPS is going to sever the relationship with the City of Fairfax, it’s a different situation, but that’s a big decision that won’t be made lightly. |
The renovation has not been approved due to land use issues. |
| And there is no possible way to financially justify building out CVHS to 3000 seats when Westfield has 800+ empty seats! |
They need to just renovate Centreville, there is no need for expansion. There are seats at Westfield. They can move students to Westfield. The idea that people get to throw a hissy fit about moving and get an expansion is ridiculous. They should be moving Centerville students to Westfield. |
It has nothing to do with demographics. Some people like IB, more people prefer AP, and most people don’t care. There are people who pupil place to SLHS for IB from Herndon, Westfield, Chantilly and other schools. Others pupil place out for AP. FMES goes to Carson for MS and then to SLHS barely knowing anyone. Most people from FMES want to move with the other schools to Skyview. Skyview is closer. Skyview will have AP. Hughes doesn’t have space for FMES so you can’t move FMES to Hughes so they can move with the other students to SLHS. |
