Global entry with unenrolled child

Anonymous
We just realized our 3 year old son doesn’t have global entry and we leave soon for an overseas trip.

Has anyone ever tried to clear global entry with a child that hasn’t been enrolled? Will they take pity on you and simply stamp the child’s passport, do they force you into the other lines, or do they make a massive situation and threaten to revoke your global entry?

Thanks in advance!

Someone will have to go through the standard line with the 3-year old.

I haven't, but the info online is very clear about everyone in a party/family needing GE individually to use it as a group. I would assume they will put you in the regular line immediately (not sure if all the way in the back).

Download the Mobile Passport Control app and use that, assuming you are coming into an airport like Dulles which uses that service. Will be much faster than the regular line.

Can you load more than one passport on it?

We are hoping he gets his CA while we are away. They do interviews at the kiosk now upon re-entry, apparently.

I’ve had global entry for around 10 years now. So much has changed.

FYI - I read elsewhere that they will revoke your enrollment. Which is absolutely crazy since until an hour ago I didn’t even realize a small child needed it. I can’t wait for the interview.

For MPC,yes, you can put your entire families passport info in it. Do that now while on the ground so the profiles are all setup. Then right before you land on the flight, start the app and go through the arrival process, which I think mostly involves taking up to date selfies and making customs declarations. You can't do this part until you are within 4 hours of arrival. Then when you land your phone gets data, the app sends the arrival info, and you go to the MPC kiosk in the arrivals area of the airport.

As for GE "changing", I have had it for 8 years and they have always required every person in a party/family to have GE individually in order for the group to use the GE lines. I remember reading that rule when I first signed up. It's why I got it for my kids a year later.

The app, nor the interviews on arrival, existed 10 years ago.

Is there a clearly marked line for the app??

I googled it and some listicle said that they’ll revoke the parents GE if you try to arrive through GE with an unenrolled minor. Which seems insane, but they also do it if you take an apple off the plane with you, so I guess it’s not surprising.

I believe it’s basically impossible to re-enroll if it gets revoked.

Enrollment on Arrival is the only major change in the GE program.

Everything with MPC is unrelated to GE. It is a program mainly for infrequent travelers.

And yes you will see clearly marked lines/kiosks for those who used MPC. At Dulles, stay to the right when you enter the arrival area, in the general direction that GE members go. You will see the signs for Mobile Passport Control quickly.

Yes it's possible to get your GE revoked if you misuse the privilege. I think in reality it's extremely unlikely you would get it revoked for something like this

And yes once revoked it's very difficult to get it back. But the vast majority of those who get it revoked are if they find out you lied about a part criminal issue, or break some sort of customs law or are convicted of a felony.

You created a person. A person who could cross borders illegally for a lot of reasons. Stop being so selfish.

You could get yours revoked but you most certainly will be sent to a regular line, which at that point will be even longer. Just send one parent through GE to go collect the bags while the other waits with the child in the regular line

Yes it is very clear everyone in your family needs GE. There are machines and you need to scan everyone’s passport. My experience is that GE was granted quickly for my kids and you can try to select GE approval upon arrival. But I don’t know if that means you can go through GE then.
