DC has about the same number of murders this year as BALTIMORE

Anonymous
We have 161 killings so far this year, which is up 28 percent from last year. Baltimore has 164 murders this year, which is down substantially from last year.

You know things are bad when you're not just compared to Baltimore, but when your crime stats make Baltimore look not so bad.

Homicides are down by a lot in many big cities -- New York, Chicago, Philly, Los Angeles, Houston. DC is a major exception to the trend.

Truly amazing how people elect stupid into office and get stupid in return. Then they ask why murders, robberies, and car jackings are out of control.

You people voted like idiots and gave carte blanche to the party in control. Reap what you've sown.

Now compare total population number to find the per capita number.

I firmly believe that our political discourse will always be in the gutter until we improve math literacy in this country.

Red districts are also experiencing crime increases so don’t be foolish.

Murders are down by almost a quarter in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Basically the opposite of what is happening here.

Baltimore has seen an 18 percent decline through the middle of June.

That’s because of the strong Republican leadership in Philly and LA.

Who are the killers?
Who are their victims?
Is there a common connection?
Which authorities are responsible?
What residents can do to stop this from happening?

Reason?
Solution?

Look at the people on trial in D.C. You have to have a rap sheet that's a mile long before the city will prosecute you. Criminals know this.

The DC prosecutors office has spent the last two years prosecuting January 6 crimes and the defendants in many (MANY) of them went to trial. It's sucked up a ton of the prosecutorial resources and had really bad downstream consequences on every other type of criminal prosecution in the city.

What a bigoted statement. What's your source of information about Baltimore? The Wire?

Also:

DC population (2022): 671,803
Baltimore population (2022): 569,931

The city council controls the funding. They are just fulfilling their promise to BLM to “defund the police.”

The spiking murder rate is the obvious and predictable result.

You are simply getting what you marched for, that’s all.
