Look at the recovered firearm numbers for 2023 - huge spike in firearms relative to a decade. This city is flooded with guns; until we get a handle on the gun pipeline, murders will continue to go up. It’s like someone dropped a shipping container filled with ghost guns and let every miscreant truant teen have one for free.

Unfortunately, however, it is the case that criminals who have miles-long rap sheets can be aggressive and dangerous when police finally catch them, and the police are justified in using appropriate force when they are threatened.

It's just too bad that people continue to misdirect their energy toward vilifying the police when the real tragedy is that black people are killing other black people, including lots of black kids -- and no one is marching in the streets about that. The real "torture" is that lots of law-abiding black citizens are forced to live in neighborhoods that aren't safe for them because criminals can commit crimes without fear of any real consequences.

There are actually black people who are sick and tired of black men killing black men, women, and children.
